Vanilla sponge cake

Classico intramontabile e semplice da preparare. Questa ricetta e’ pensata per due torte.

Ingredients

  • 3 + 2/3 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 220 grams of butter
  • 220 grams of margarina
  • 8 eggs
  • 4 teaspons of baking powder
  • 1 + 1/2 teaspons vanilla essence
  • pinch of salt (q.b.)
  • 6 tablespoons of lukewarm water/coffee

Method

Keep the butter and the margarine out of the fridge for a while, until they become soft.

Heat the owen at 170 degrees and immediately put the flour for a couple of minutes.

Sieve the flour and keep it aside.

Meanwhile, beat the eggs.

Cream butter and sugar together in a separate big bowl; then add the coffee, the flour and the eggs by beating gently until you get an uniform consistency.

Beat fast for 30 seconds.

Add the chocolate chips.

Put in the oven for 40 minutes, the exact time depends on how big is the cake.
